Welcome to Forest Grove Live.  Or should I say – welcome back. I originally published this little blog way back in February of 2006.  The main intention was to provide a way for local FG residents to stay up to date on what was happening in our little neck of the woods.  At the time, I was pretty involved with the community as I was running a little computer repair shop.  I had friends and customers who were part of the school district, city council, the university, Theatre in the Grove, as well as many of the restaurants and little shops that make up the core of Forest Grove.  I felt I had a pretty good handle on current events and what all was happening.  Little did I know that was ‘about’ to happen…. would happen to me.  As they say….all good things must come to an end.

In the fall of 2007 – due to the failing economy, I had to close my little store, and give up this little blog.  Forest Grove truly became a bedroom community for me as I had to seek employment in Hillsboro.  That was a little over 2 years ago, but I never forgot Forest Grove Live,  and all the support I had from the community.  In fact, I truly missed it.

So now as 2009 comes to an end, and even though I am not as ‘connected’ as I used to be, I think the time is right to bring this little guy back to life.  If for no other reason – I feel it brings me back into the community, it keeps me involved.   And I do miss that.

Oh sure, there are lots of websites about Forest Grove already out there.  There’s one for the School District, and one for Pacific, and the City has their own, as does the Newspaper.  But there still is not one single website that really covers it all. I hope this little blog can help change that.

This site is not just about the town, the shops, the 22 Churches, the 2 gas stations, or the 1 grocery store.  It’s also about the award winning wineries, the buffalo ranch, and the world’s tallest barber pole.  It’s about Maggies Buns, Phil’s Subs, BJ’s Coffee, and Pizza Schmizza.  It’s about the ghost of Vera that roams Knight Hall and the peacocks that roam Forest Gale Heights.  It’s about everything that makes Forest Grove so unique.  And such a great place to live.

So with that said, welcome to Forest Grove Live, the original Ballad Town Blog.  I hope you enjoy your stay, and it sure is good to be back!
